Snow day

Yesterday, we had a snow day which means no school. Those were 2 of my favorite words growing up as a teenager in Massachusetts. The boys and girl were pretty excited about it too.The forecast was for something like 5-8 inches. The high temps were in the 20's with lows in the single digits. But either the storm missed us or possibly we don't get much snow because we're in a valley. We ended up with about an inch while other places really close by got 7-10 inches! And what little snow we had ended up melting the same day it fell. How could that happen when it's 20 degrees with no sun? Go figure. The boys and girl went out to play in it, and there was nothing left! But today, the mountains were covered in snow. The picture does not do justice to the grandeur and splendor of God's creation.I am not used to the mountains still. I can be driving along without a thought of them when suddenly I make a turn towards them, and it feels like I could drive straight into them. They are stunning and fill the horizon at times. Praise God!
