Emery's Got Talent!

Emery's school had a talent show recently. Emery had two acts!

She opened things off with the Star Spangled Banner. It was quite the way to kick off the night!

Her second act was an ensemble with some of her friends. Unfortunately, they had some technical difficulties. This is how it started.

It was choreographed completely by the girls. Nice job Emery! So much talent!

Winter Concert

Matt's band - the Norse Band - put on their winter concert a couple of months ago.

He's working the xylophone.

This one's a foot stomper.
Here he goes completely on his own. Nice job Matt!

And they're off!

Andrew has started track in HS. He's running on the JV or Frosh/Soph team. I think the coach and Andrew are still figuring out what events he should run in, but for now, he's working on the 100, 200, 400 and 4x100, 4x200 relays. This was his first meet and his first race. He's actually one of the younger guys as a lot of the boys competing were sophomores.
He's in the first lane on the right.
The 100 isn't his best race, and he's still getting used to using blocks.
He's not usually the fastest starter, but he got a good jump this time. The most important thing in his first race was that he didn't finish last! Good job Andrew! It'll only get better from here!

The Snow!

The boys and girl love the snow. So do I. Unfortunately, we don't live near snow. So what has become an annual trip, we went up to visit our good friends, the Paytons, and did some sledding.
It's a big hill.

But surprisingly, Emery didn't go down that fast even though I tried something new and waxed all the boards this time.
But she had a blast with her bud Hannah.
I think Andrew had the best run of the day.
The day started off quite wet with rain though it turned into sleet and then snow. Everyone had fun, and the boys thought it was dope!

The Warriors

As our beloved Lakers are still in a down season :( we root for the Warriors. Unfortunately, they keep letting us down too! I took Matt to see the Warriors play the Sacramento Kings at their new arena - the Golden 1 Center.
We started off the night with dinner at Squeeze Inn. My cholesterol level went up about 20 points. Matt's eating like a man now. Good to see. Bad to pay for.

We tried to get there early and see all of Steph's famous warm-up drills. We got there just in time to see the end of his dribbling routine. He's on the baseline going at it. Shawn Livingston is at the free throw line.

Then Steph started shooting. It was pretty cool to watch.

Iggy came out to warm-up in his usual hoodie.

It was an exciting game that went to OT. Unfortunately, the Warriors lost. But we had a blast!
