Our last stop on this trip, of what seems to have lasted a lifetime as I blog through it, was the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in VA. This is different from the one in DC.
Our future pilot (maybe - no pressure bud, really), loves planes so we decided to check this place out. It was absolutely amazing. It didn't hurt that right in the beginning it had one of my favorite planes of all time - the SR-71A Blackbird.
It was an absolutely HUGE hangar filled with planes. It made all sorts of planes look small.
An actual Concorde Jet was here.
As was the actual Enola Gay.
Oh and the Space Shuttle Discovery just happened to be here too.
The boys and girl got to do some cool simulations.
Including landing the aforementioned Space Shuttle.
Mom even got to wear a space suit! Just kidding. Nobody's in there. But this museum was super cool. And though we didn't get to see EVERYTHING in the DC area, I think we came about as close as a family of 5 could in 2 1/2 weeks. Praise God for a great family vacation!
